McClatchie romps to 7-shot Big Easy win

He probably sealed the deal with his three birdies in the opening nine at Killarney Golf Club, but there was more to GolfRSA National Squad player Kyle McClatchie’s win in the season-opening Sunshine Big Easy Tour event there.
He started the day with a four-stroke edge over the other amateur in the field, Slade Pickering, and, despite bogeys on 10 and 13, he signed for a three-under 67 to finish up with a seven-stroke margin over Maritz Wessels, who carded the low round of that day with a four-under 66.

Mayo, Steyn share lead at Prince’s Grant

KwaZulu-Natal’s Luke Mayo and Central Gauteng’s Marco Steyn came through the challenge of 36 holes, another windy afternoon and a tougher course set-up to share the lead in the Oxigen Prince’s Grant National Amateur Invitational on Tuesday.
The two golfers head into Wednesday’s final round locked together on level par for the tournament and four shots clear of their nearest challenger in Darin de Smidt.

Just two days after he lifted the Western Province Amateur title at Westlake Golf Club, South Africa’s number one ranked amateur Kyle McClatchie rode a rich vein of form to lead the first event of the 2017 Big Easy Tour on Tuesday.
The 19-year-old from Serengeti Golf and Wildlife Estate crafted a magnificent seven-under-par 63 to take pole position at Killarney Country Club. He leads by three shots from fellow amateur Slade Pickering and he is five shots clear of Bennie van der Merwe.
