Mansfield hopes to double down in Western Cape

KwaZulu-Natal’s Clayton Mansfield has shifted his sights to the Western Province Amateur this week after he bagged his first provincial title in wire-to-wire style at Stellenbosch Golf Club on Friday.
“You gain a different kind of confidence with that first big win,” said 22-year-old from Durban Country Club after he closed out a five stroke victory in the Boland Amateur Open on a winning total of 14-under-par 202.

Chips Shots with Garrick Higgo

GolfRSA National Squad member Garrick Higgo celebrated his debut in the prestigious Junior Invitational with a tie for 45th at Sage Valley Country Club in South Carolina. The De Zalze junior posted rounds of 79, 73 and 76 to finish on 12 over 228.

Third time’s a charm as Niemans wins Junior Invitational

Joaquin Niemann from Chile celebrated his third start in the Junior Invitational with a four stroke victory over American Austin Eckroat at the Sage Valley Golf Club.
The Chilean carded rounds of 67, 70 and 67 to triumph on 204 and don the prized Gold Jacket as the prestigious junior championship’s second international champion after 2015 winning Marcus Kinhult from Sweden.

Gauteng North’s Danielle du Toit benefitted from extra work with the putter to charge into a three-way tie for the lead in the opening round of the Sanlam South African Amateur Stroke Play Championship on Sunday.
The reigning Nomads SA Girls champion racked up five birdies at The Wanderers Golf Club to join South Africa’s top ranked Kajal Mistry and Woo-Ju Son at three-under-par 69.
