Cole gives Gauteng edge at Fish River

Cole Stevens helped Central Gauteng into pole position in Monday’s first round of the Nomads SA Under-13 Champion at Fish River Sun Country Club. Central Gauteng scored an opening 31-over-par 396 to lead by five from Ekurhuleni.

Pride on the line at SA Inter-Provincial

It has been 28 years since Gauteng North last lifted the South African Inter-Provincial title. In fact, the team was still called Northern Transvaal when they celebrated victory in East London Golf Club in 1984.

If one based their chances on the current South African Golf Association’s rankings, this could be the year that Gauteng North changes the course of history at this year’s South African Inter-Provincial, sponsored by Tempest.

Strong junior presence at Pick n Pay SA Womens IPT

Nelson Mandela Bay will be awash with the country’s top women golfers when the 53rd Pick n Pay SA Womens Inter-Provincial tees off at Port Elizabeth Golf Club from 24-27 September.

The 18-hole championship layout will provide the stage for four days of intense competition between 16 A- and B- Division teams contesting glory in the country’s largest national team championship.

North West ready to rumble for SA IPT glory

Home course advantage, resident support and local course knowledge. These are the three elements the North West team are counting on to lay the foundation and deliver a winning punch for A-Section promotion in the 53rdSouth African Inter-Provincial Championship, sponsored by Tempest, at Rustenburg Golf Club next week.

To reach the end goal, the local favourites will have to get six very determined and confident opponents, including Border, Eastern Province, Ekurhuleni, Free State & Northern Cape, Mpumalanga and 2012 wooden spoon recipient Limpopo, who was relegated in Port Elizabeth last year.

Defending champions ready for rematch in Rustenburg

For the first time in the history, two A-Section teams will step into title defence when the 53rdSouth African Inter-Provincial Championship, sponsored by Tempest, tees off at Rustenburg Golf Club next week.

The Western Province and Boland have shared the unprecedented joint glory for 12 months, but the time has come for a new champion to step up and both teams are determined to go the distance at the SAGA’s flagship team event from 23-27 September.

Rustenburg primed for 53rd SA IPT

Rustenburg Golf Club has played host to several prominent professional and amateur events, but this year marks the first time that the North West Province golf club welcomes the South Africa’s most prestigious amateur team event.
The 18-hole championship layout will host the 53rd edition of the South African Inter-Provincial Championship, sponsored by Tempest, from 23-27 September 2013.
