South Africa’s leading amateur Brandon Stone strengthened his bid to win the Sanlam South African Amateur Championship when he blistered the course in 66 strokes during the second round on the 36-hole qualifier at Mowbray Golf Club.
Top ranked Junior Lara Weinstein carded a four under 69 in the first round of the Border Championships played at East London Golf Club yesterday and with her one-over 73 in the afternoon, finished on two-under 144 to pick up the winner’s trophy.
Top English amateur Toby Tree launched his bid for the Sanlam South African Amateur Championship title with a five-under-par 67 to share the first round lead of the 36-hole qualifier at Mowbray Golf Club on Sunday.
