It was announced this afternoon, Friday 9 October by the International Olympic Committee that Golf has been accepted as an Olympic Sport. This is great news and we look forward to seeing our South Africans participating in 2016 in Rio – and winning!

Lying second playing the 16th hole in the final round of the Turkish Open Amateur Championships at the Gloria Golf Club, Kim Williams dropped three shorts on the last two holes to finish in fifth position in this international field.
The Gloria Golf Club in Antalya, Turkey is one of the venues for the 2012 World Amateur Team Championship. It is a golf course carved out of a forest of pine trees. Where the trees have been removed pristine fairways, greens and bunkers exist.
