The South African amateur golf team pairing of Derik Ferreira and Adrian Ford, finished yesterday’s first round of the Juan Carols Tailhade Cup team competition two shots off the pace. Both players recorded rounds of 73, two over par, to record a team score of 146, four over par.
Derik Ferreira (Gauteng North) and Adrian Ford (Western Province) will tee up for South Africa in the international amateur team event, known as the Juan Carlos Tailhade Cup, which starts tomorrow (Thursday) at the Los Lagartos Country Club, outside Buenos Aires, Argentina.
It is not often that two brothers win golf tournaments within a calendar year but 2008 has seen both Tyrone Ferreira and now Stephen Ferreira lifting trophies albeit Tyrone’s win was on the Sunshine Tour and Stephen’s was in the Central Gauteng Open over the weekend.
