SA retains Africa Zone VI crown

Christiaan Bezuidenhout put the seal on South Africa’s successful title defence at the Africa Zone VI Golf Tournament on Thursday.
The country’s number one ranked amateur belted Adel Balala from Kenya 9 & 7 in the final round singles at Devonvale Golf and Wine Estate to put an exclamation mark on another clean sweep for the country in Africa’s most prestigious team event.
South Africa retained their title with 23 points, finishing four points ahead of Zimbabwe, with Namibia taking third on 15.5 points in the final standings.

Stuart Krogg and Jack Allard dealt South Africa a crushing blow when they ended South Africa’s unbeaten run at the Africa Zone VI Golf Championships on Wednesday.

Zander Lombard set the tone for South Africa’s title defence at the Africa Zone VI Golf Championships when he defeated Malawi’s Ben Wandawanda at Devonvale Golf & Wine Estate on Tuesday.
The first South African out in a brutal South-easterly wind secured the first point with a convincing 8 & 7 victory. Inspired, the remaining seven all hit winning notes for a clean sweep in the singles.

Mid-Amateurs to vie for international experience

South Africa’s mid-amateur golfers have been given an exciting incentive to play for at this year’s South African Mid-Amateur Stroke Play Championship at Ruimsig Country Club from 6 – 9 May.
Following the prestigious national championship, four players will be selected to a national team to compete in the International Team Mid-Amateur Championship in France in July.
