South Africa beat France after rain delay
It could be argued that the heavens smiled upon the South African amateur golf team who, after a one and half hour rain delay, managed to overcome a resilient young French team at the end of the second and final day of the eight man test match played at Euphoria Golf Estate, Waterberg, today (Thursday).
The young French team edged one point ahead of South Africa after the end of day one of their amateur golf test match today, finishing the day on 6½ points.
The International Team competition being played as the same time as the 36 hole Qualifying Round, of the Glacier South African Amateur Championship, could turn out to be a closely fought affair.
The South African team of eight amateur golfers enjoyed their last practice round at Euphoria Golf Estate, in the Waterberg, today in preparation for the test match against France. This will be the venue for two day test match starting tomorrow (Wednesday).
