Defending champions Boland were still out on the course when play was halted after a day of high winds and heavy rain showers on the second day of the South African Inter Provincial tournament at the Hermanus Golf Club.
Western Province started day two of the South African Inter Provincial tournament at the Hermanus Golf Club by shutting out Ekurhuleni in the morning foursomes play to strengthen their hold at the top of the A section.
Western Province turned on the singles power on Monday when they didn’t lose a single match in the afternoon match against Central Gauteng on the opening day of the South African Inter Provincial golf tournament at Hermanus Golf Club.

Following 8 months of club qualifying events in which over 8500 golfers took part around the country, 460 players participated in six Regional Final events to compete for a place in the National Finals of the Old Mutual International Pairs SA. On the 25th August, forty eight golfers assembled at Zebula CC for three days of intense golf in the African bush on a golf course that was in superb condition – especially considering the time of the year.
After four days of perfect weather, the World University Golf Championship ended with the Japanese men and the American ladies taking the teams spoils.
South Africa’s Ashleigh Holmes picked up the inaugural Turkish Ladies Amateur Championship Trophy yesterday, Sunday 7 September, at the Cornelia Golf Club, Antalya, Turkey. Lying second coming into the final round, Ashleigh’s 76 was good enough to win the event by one stroke on 307 (77, 78, 76, 76) from Charlene Reid of Ireland and Elcin Ulu of Turkey, both on 308. Team mate Gina Switala did not start the tournament well, scoring 82, 81 and 82, but came back with a great 75 in the final round to finish in 11th position.
