Waterkloof waltzes to SA High School Champs victory

Eric Nel, Estiaan Conradie, Dylan Kok and JP Cooper combined to score Waterkloof High School’s biggest coup of the season when they marched to victory in the South African High School Championship at Irene Country Club on Friday. Four for four in victories this season, the quartet defeated defending champions TuksSport High School by seven strokes in a tightly-contested final to keep their winning record in pristine shape.

TuksSport poised SA High School Champs hat-trick

TuksSport High School launched their bid for a third victory in the South African High School Championship with solid first round 219, but the defending champions will have pull out the stops to overhaul Waterkloof High School to celebrate on Friday. The 2012 champions opened with an even-par 216 at Irene Country Club, courtesy of Estiaan Conradie (71), JP Cooper (72) and Eric Nel (73), and will carry a three stroke lead into the final round of the prestigious annual team competition.

Van der Merwe on fire in Germany

He was bitterly disappointed with his opening gambit, but South Africa’s Altin van der Merwe is smiling after round two action wrapped in the RB German Junior on Wednesday.
Van der Merwe vaulted to third at three over 147 and lags just two strokes off the pace at GolfClub Heidelberg.

Hall of Fame celebrates SA golf legacy

The South African Golf Heritage Trust is delighted to announce that legendary Grand Slam champion Gary Player and LPGA Major winner Sally Little assisted avid golf supporter, the Honorable Patricia de Lille – Mayor of the City of Cape Town – at the opening of the Mercedes-Benz Southern African Golf Hall of Fame and Heritage Centre at its new home in the Clock Tower precinct of the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town.

SA junior quartet to challenge in Italy

SA bows out to France in Bordeaux

France’s national mid-amateur team edged out South Africa by one point in the final to lift the prestigious International Team Mid-Amateur Championship title at the Golf Du Medoc Resort near Bordeaux on Sunday.
