Yushira, Connie and Bertine

Three South African Juniors, Bertine Strauss, Connie Chen and Yushira Budhram played the first round of the Girls’ British Open Amateur at West Lancashire Golf Club in Liverpool yesterday. According to Manager Erica Lefson, West Lancashire is a links course in the true sense of the word. The course has been lengthened to the men’s yellow tees – really long – playing 6324 yds at sea level.

Bertine had the best round of the three, finishing on five over 77.
