Class-act Orton doubles up in Northern Cape

Lumien Orton proved that form is temporary but class is permanent as the former top ranked amateur marched to a second trophy finish in eight weeks, courtesy of a one-shot victory at the Northern Cape Championship in Kimberly on Monday. Just under two months since she defeated Symone Henriques on her way to claiming the Sanlam SA Women’s Amateur Championship title, Orton opened with a 72.

Gauteng North rising star Danielle du Toit edged out local favourite Azelia Meichtry to celebrate a third victory this season in the Southern Cape Championship in George on Sunday. Park’s gold medal performance in Rio captures the world

Arms held over her head in triumph, Inbee Park showed about as much emotion as you are likely ever to see from the stoic South Korean golfer.
The 28-year-old seven-time Major winner held off the rest of the field Saturday in Rio to win gold at the first women’s golf competition since 1900. She closed with a five-under-par to lap the field at 16 under — the same mark Justin Rose posted to win the men’s competition.
