SA Ladies’ Open reinstated
The WPGA advise that the SA Ladies’ Open has been reinstated and will be played from 10 – 12 March 2009 at the Parkview Golf Club. The practice day will be on 9 March.

Connie is top Gauteng North Junior

In a very exciting sudden death play-off, Connie Chen snatched the Gauteng North Junior Championship from Gauteng’s Yushira Budhram on the third play-off hole at Irene Country Club on Sunday 25 January. Both girls had scored four over par 148 to go into the play-off. SA Junior Champion Bertine Strauss finished two strokes back on 150.

South Africa’s top junior golfers, Bertine Strauss and Connie Chen were included in the group of 60 top internationals to compete in the inaugural Annika Invitaional, played at the Ginn Union Resort in Orlando, Florida from 16 to 19 January 2009.

Adelaide, Australia (11 October) – Sweden held the lead from the start to finish to capture the Espirito Santo Trophy and win the 2008 Women’s World Amateur Team Championship by 12 strokes over Spain and 14 over the USA at The Grange Golf Club’s East and West courses.
