Ivanna Samu, Kaleigh Telfer and Cara Gorlei will represent South Africa in a record field of 55 women’s nations at the 2016 World Amateur Team Championships, conducted by the International Golf Federation (IGF), in September.
Let’s take a closer look at the South African trio hoping to hunt down the country’s second title in the Espirito Santo Trophy at the Mayakoba El Camaleon and Iberostar Playa Paraiso Golf Clubs from 14-17 September.

Orton crowned Sanlam SA Women’s Amateur champion

It felt as if she had come full circle when Lumien Orton won the Sanlam South African Women’s Amateur Championship at the Ebotse Links on Wednesday. The 29-year-old Orton beat the Western Cape’s Cara Gorlei 2Up in the final after earlier defeating Symone Henriques 2&1 to make the final.

Sublime Symone into semis of Sanlam SA Women’s Amateur

Gauteng’s Symone Henriques surprised even herself as she played her way into the semi-finals of the Sanlam South African Women’s Amateur Championship at the Ebotse Links on Tuesday. The 15-year-old Henriques was floating around the links on Tuesday morning after beating one of the favourites, Michaela Fletcher, 2&1 to make it through to the afternoon’s quarterfinals.
