The University of Texas student made her debut in 2007 and helped South Africa to a third place finish at Royal Johannesburg and Kensington, and was a member of the 2011 team that took third at Fairhaven Golf Club in Lytham St Annes in England.
Womens Golf South Africa have named Bertine Strauss, Lora Assad, Michaela Fletcher, reigning Sanlam SA Amateur Women’s champion Ivanna Samu and Eleonora Galletti to fly the flag for South Africa in the prestigious 2015 Astor Trophy in Australia early next year.
Womens Golf South Africa hosted a Talent Identification Development Camp at the High Performance Centre at the University of Pretoria this past weekend.
The camp was facilitated by National coach Val Holland and assistant national coach Anna Bekker, who identified the juniors during the annual Nomads SA Girls Championship, held at Orkney Golf Club in June.
South Africa’s number two ranked amateur Ivanna Samu was in ascendency once again when she fended off Chiara Contamathios to lift the KwaZulu-Natal Junior Championship title at Selborne Park Golf Club on Sunday.
