Australia came out on tops in the first round of the Astor Trophy, but it was the result between New Zealand and Great Britain that encouraged the South African team vying for a first victory in the prestigious team tournament at The Grange Golf Club in Adelaide on Tuesday.

Texas State’s Assad ready to shine in Australia

Randpark golfer Lora Assad is relishing her debut for South Africa in the prestigious Astor Trophy at The Grange in Adelaide from 12-16 January 2015 alongside Bertine Strauss from the North West Province, Michaela Fletcher from KwaZulu-Natal and fellow Gauteng golfers Ivanna Samu and Eleonora Galletti.

Strauss primed for Astor Trophy in Australia

Koster golfer Bertine Strauss is primed for her third appearance in the Astor Trophy at The Grange in Adelaide from 12-16 January 2015.
The University of Texas student made her debut in 2007 and helped South Africa to a third place finish at Royal Johannesburg and Kensington, and was a member of the 2011 team that took third at Fairhaven Golf Club in Lytham St Annes in England.

Experience and Youth picked for Astor Trophy

Womens Golf South Africa have named Bertine Strauss, Lora Assad, Michaela Fletcher, reigning Sanlam SA Amateur Women’s champion Ivanna Samu and Eleonora Galletti to fly the flag for South Africa in the prestigious 2015 Astor Trophy in Australia early next year.

Juniors put through their paces at HPC

Womens Golf South Africa hosted a Talent Identification Development Camp at the High Performance Centre at the University of Pretoria this past weekend.
The camp was facilitated by National coach Val Holland and assistant national coach Anna Bekker, who identified the juniors during the annual Nomads SA Girls Championship, held at Orkney Golf Club in June.
