Stellenbosch’s Maggi du Toit, playing off a three handicap, won the 2010 Boland Championship played in cold, windy and wet conditions at the Devonvale Estate golf course yesterday. She is seen here receiving her trophy from Boland Executive Bev Pienaar.
Although expected to take the 50th Pick n Pay SA Women’s Inter-Provincial trophy home, the victorious Gauteng North Daisies totally overwhelmed runners-up, North West with a 8 -1 win on the final day, losing only one foursomes when Nicole Becker and Bertine Strauss beat Kim Williams and Henriette Frylinck 4/3.

For the fourth year in a row, North West face neighbours Gauteng North on the final day of the Pick n Pay SA Women’s Inter-Provincial championships being played at the beautiful Irene Country Club in Pretoria. The course is in great condition and with perfect weather and magnificent old trees a feature of the course, it is a perfect venue for WGSA to celebrate its 50th Inter Provincial.
The Daisies
Gauteng North Daisies, led my a very motivated Kim Williams, trounced a strong KZN side in the first round of the Pick n Pay SA Women’s Inter-Provincial match play championship, conceding only half a point when Connie Chen halved her match with Tanica van As.

19-year old Leján Lewthwaite, playing in her first Inter-Provincial, carded a great 73 to join Protea Kim Williams at the top of the leader-board in the qualifying round played today at Irene Country Club
