The Japanese Junior team blew all their opposition away on the final day of the Junior Golf World Cup when they recorded a final day team score of 206 (7 under) and a tournament team total of 822 (30 under). Their nearest competition, the USA, ended 14 strokes behind them on 836 (16 under).
South Africa put in a solid performance but never seemed to find their stride as they hung around in the middle of the leaderoard for the duration of the tournament.
The SA team closed with a final day score of 4 under par (209), their lowest team score for the week, and in a seventh place out of the twelve teams participating. The final days scores that counted for the SA team were 67 (Jerling), 69 (Stone) and 73 (Porteous).
The individual leaderboard saw a three way tie on 10 under par (274) between Asaji (Jpn), Connors (Can) and Bjerregaard (Den). Brandon Stone (RSA), with scores of 71 68 70 and 69, finished in a tie for 6th place four shots behind the leaders.
The other members of the SA team, namely Bruyns, Jerling and Porteous, finished in for T22nd, T25th and 38th respectively.
