GolfRSA’s men’s programme continues to be a key pathway from amateur excellence to international success.
National Squad -
Women Raising the bar for women’s golf
The GolfRSA National Squad – Women provides structured,
tiered support for South Africa’s most talented female
golfers. Divided into Elite, Group B, Group C, and the Qalisa
feeder squad, the programme helps players progress
through performance levels as they develop.
Squad members benefit from:
South Africa’s leading instructors, Trackman and data-driven
swing analysis, Sports psychology and biokinetics sessions
and training camps that combine skill-building, fitness and
mental focus.
Our National Squad has produced many of South Africa’s
top-ranked amateurs and collegiate players, including
Kaleigh Telfer, Kaiyuree Moodley, Kajal Mistry, Caitlyn
Macnab and Kyra van Kan, and Sunshine Ladies Tour winners
Cara Gorlei, Gabbi Venter and Danielle du Toit, . With
support from Mr. Johann Rupert, the Department of Sport,
Arts and Culture and The R&A, the women’s programme
continues to inspire and empower golfers across the
country
National Squad Selection
Selecting South Africa’s finest amateur golfers
The GolfRSA National Squad selection process is based on
performance, attitude and potential.
Key criteria include:
- Ranking on the GolfRSA Order of Merit and World Amateur
- Golf Rankings
- Outstanding performances locally or internationally, including NCAA Division 1 events
- Player behaviour, respect, and attitude
- National Colours and representation record
- Health, fitness and commitment
- Transformation and diversity considerations
Selections are reviewed regularly, with players able to move
between groups as they develop. The aim is to recognise
excellence while ensuring opportunities remain fair and
inclusive across South African golf.
RSA Selection
Representing South Africa with pride
GolfRSA oversees the selection of players who represent
South Africa in international amateur tournaments and team
events.
Selections are based on consistent performance,
competitive results and conduct that reflects the values of
South African golf.
Considerations include:
- Position on the GolfRSA Order of Merit
- Performance at major events
- Behaviour and sportsmanship on and of the course
- Commitment to the squad programme and transformation goals
Special selections, such as invitations to the South African
Open and SA Women’s Open, the World Amateur Team
Championships and the Spirit International, are determined
by a panel of selectors who balance ranking with merit and
national interest.

amateurs and DP World Tour professionals.

Anna Becker-Frankel – Women’s Assistant National Coach
Experienced coach dedicated to developing
South Africa’s leading female amateurs.
Supports the women’s national squad
through technical coaching, performance
planning and international tournament
preparation.
Costanza Trussoni – Women’s TrackMan Specialist
Technology and data specialist with
expertise in swing analysis and performance
tracking. Works with GolfRSA’s elite players
to optimise ball flight, club data and shot
consistency using TrackMan technology.
Grant Flaum & Shaun Landsberg Women’s Mental Coaches
Grant (Elite & B Squads) and Shaun (Group C
Squad) provide psychological support across
GolfRSA’s high-performance structures. They
focus on mental preparation, confidence,
focus and resilience.
Bianca Bloemhof & Team – Women’s Biokineticist & Sport Scientist
Bianca leads the women’s performance
support team, specialising in strength,
conditioning and injury prevention. Ensures
players are physically prepared to perform at
their peak through tailored fitness, recovery
and sport science programmes.
