South Africa’s Spirit International team are primed for the challenge ahead of their departure for the United States on Friday. The quartet tasked with flying the country’s flag in Texas from 30 October to 2 November include Christiaan Bezuidenhout from Ekurhuleni, Kim Williams from Gauteng North and Central Gauteng’s Louis Taylor and Lara Weinstein.

South Africa extended the country’s dominance at the African Amateur Golf Teams Championship by put the finishing touches to an impressive week in Swaziland on Wednesday.
Callum Mowat, Zander Lombard, NJ Arnoldi and Gerlou combined to claim South Africa’s seventh successive triumph at the Royal Swazi Sun Country Club with a total score of 34-under-par 830, finishing 26 strokes clear of Zimbabwe.

Just days after she was denied the Boland Championship title in a play-off for, Gauteng North’s Carrie Park exacted her revenge with a runaway victory in the 33rdAckerman Championship on Sunday. The 16-year-old from Pretoria was still smarting from her defeat when she teed it up at Rondebosch Golf Club, but rounds of 74 and 72 saw her to a two-stroke lead at the 36-hole mark and this time Park was determined to finally go the full course. While the rest of the field struggled in winds gusting up to 50km per hour, Park bravely romped to a nine stroke victory with a final round 75.
