South African’s leave Royal Troon very disappointed

Michaela Fletcher, who won the Nomads SA Girls at Orkney, says Orkney weather is decidedly easier to play in than at Troon.

The three South Africans competing in the prestigious Duke of York Young Champions Trophy will leave Troon this evening very disappointed with their individual performances.

Gauteng North take all the silver at Pick n Pay Inter-Provincial

It all went according to plan for Gauteng North at the Pick n Pay Women’s Inter-Provincial played this week on Woodmead course at Country Club Johannesburg. They took home both the A and the B Inter-Prov silver. An elated Dot van Ryneveld heaped praise on her players who proved, once again, that the awesome talent in this Union has some serious depth to it.

Western Province take up challenge at Pick n Pay IPT 2012

Western Province A had a commanding lead over Gauteng North A after winning all three matches inthe morning’s foursomes. The excitement was palpable in the clubhouse prior to the start of the singles, as a major upset was a distinct possibility. However, Gauteng North A pulled out all the stops by winning the required 5 out of 6 singles matches to win.

Another beautiful warm winter Highveld day greeted the players competing in the annual Pick n Pay SA Women’s IPT on the first day of the Match Play at Country Club Johannesburg. Gauteng North A dominated play against Gauteng A, and Western Province A took on Ekurhuleni and had a convincing win over them.

80 of South Africa’s top women amateur golfers have descended upon the Woodmead course at Country Club Johannesburg to represent their provinces in the 2012 Pick n Pay SA Women’s Inter-Provincial. Todays results decide in which Section of each Division the teams will compete for the match play which starts tomorrow.
