Tracey Wilson, WGSA’s newly appointed Tournament Administrator, commenced her duties with great enthusiasm at the Kingswood Mid-Amateur Championship being played in George this week.
The United States team may have beaten some of the world’s best amateurs to win gold at Whispering Pines Golf Course, but the South African team have to be commended for throwing everything into a final day charge which resulted in a top five finish in The Spirit International in Houston, Texas.
South Africa finished tied fifth with Japan and Germany on -14 at The Spirit which was played at Whispering Pines this week.
The South African team slipped to eighth on the 54-hole leaderboard at the 2011 Spirit International at Whispering Pines Golf Course in Houston, Texas on Saturday.
The SA Girls finsihed three under on day three of The Spirit being played at Whispering Pines and tied ninth in the women’s competition on -1. The SA men are tied sixth on -9 and the team is in eighth position on -10 going into the final round.
