KZN to defend Mid Amateur IPT Title

Tournament venue: Worcester Golf Club in the BolandThe eight man team from Kwazulu Natal make the journey south, to the Boland’s Worcester Golf Club, to defend the title they won last year when they tee up in the 2010 South African Mid Amateur Inter Provincial on Monday (11 October 2010).

Maseko qualifies for Egyptian Open after finishing 3rd in Egyptian Amateur

South Africa’s Thabo Maseko needed to make a par on the last hole of the 2010 Egyptian Amateur to make the playoff but he recorded a bogey on the difficult 18th hole and finished in third place hence qualifying to play in the 2010 Egyptian Open which forms part of the European Challenge Tour. Maseko recorded rounds of 69 75 and 73 for a three round total of 217.

Daisies make it four years in a row!

Although expected to take the 50th Pick n Pay SA Women’s Inter-Provincial trophy home, the victorious Gauteng North Daisies totally overwhelmed runners-up, North West with a 8 -1 win on the final day, losing only one foursomes when Nicole Becker and Bertine Strauss beat Kim Williams and Henriette Frylinck 4/3.

North West girls grit their teeth for final round against the Daisies

For the fourth year in a row, North West face neighbours Gauteng North on the final day of the Pick n Pay SA Women’s Inter-Provincial championships being played at the beautiful Irene Country Club in Pretoria. The course is in great condition and with perfect weather and magnificent old trees a feature of the course, it is a perfect venue for WGSA to celebrate its 50th Inter Provincial.
