The South African Junior Team of Connie Chen, Talia Nel and Lara Weinstein arrived in Belfast, Northern Ireland, yesterday to participate in the Girls British Open Amateur at Royal Belfast – a course that Erica Lefson describes as like Woodhill golf course in a beautiful park.
Whilst attending the Harder German Junior Masters, which forms part of the World Junior Golf Series, Ron Boon, Chairman of the KeNako Golf and Sports Academy, announced the launch of the KeNako S.A. Junior Masters as part of the World Junior Golf Series.

17-year old South African Connie Chen played great golf on the final day of the Harder German Junior Masters to finish in third place on 6 under par 210 (71, 71, 68). The event was won by Dane Nicole Broch Larson on -12, with Thailand’s Thidapa Suwannapura in second place on -7.

After another fine one-under 71, Connie Chen goes into the final round of the Harder German Junior Masters on -2, alone in fourth place. Lara Weinstein also returned an excellent 71 and she and Talia Nel who scored 78 yesterday, are grouped together to lead the field teeing off at 7.30am today.

Durban Country Club will host the 100th playing of the South African Open Championship from 16-19 December 2010. This was confirmed by the South African Golf Association and Dlamini Weil Communications, the new promoters of South Africa’s flagship golf tournament.

Former Eastern Cape star Tanica van As, now living in KZN, won th36 hole Durban Regional Championships played at Bluff National Park Country Club on Sunday.
The South African Golf Association (SAGA) announced the names of the three players to represent South Africa in the biennial World Amateur Team Championships. The team is Dylan Frittelli, Dean O’Riley and JG Claassen .
