SAGA mourn the passing of Eddie Luckhoff

Eddie Luckhoff, former long serving South African Golf Association Executive Member and President of North West Province Golf Union, died at 03h25 on Saturday in the Lamprecht Hosiptal, George. He was diagnosed, two years ago, with cancer, a malignant tumour in his kidney.

Revenge on Kenya’s home turf

It was sweet revenge for the South African team as they took on Kenya in their back yard and beat them in the Africa Zon VI Championship which concluded today (Friday). The four round championship was staged at the Nyali Golf and Country Club in Mombasa, Kenya. In all ten African countries were represented.

Nortje wins first Open Amateur Title in his back yard

From the 1st to the 3rd of April, the Southern Cape played host to yet another very successful Sanlam Cape Province Open.

A total of 134 amateurs from all across South Africa, of which most are top ranked by the South African Golf Association, entered this very prestigious tournament. The tournament was played over 3 days which started off with two pre-cut rounds played during the 1st and the 2nd of April, and was completed by playing two rounds on the 3rd of April.

Ernie Els working in South Africa! The Els for Autism Foundation opened the Els for Autism Computer Learning Centre in January of this year. Located in Johannesburg, the Centre provides lower resourced families of children with autism with free access to a highly-effective online and learning development programme, along with facilitated support from a trained professional.

Zone VI Team announced

The South African Golf Association (SAGA) announced the Protea Team to play in the Zone VI tournament taking place from 13 to 15 April at Leisure Lodge Golf Resort on the south coast of Mombasa, Kenya.
