The ten man Protea amateur golf team beat a strong Scottish team by 18 points to 12 to win the Leopard Trophy in a two day Test Match which concluded on Wednesday.

The SA team extended their lead in the Test Match against Scotland at Leopard Creek in the morning Four Ball (Better Ball) session. The morning session was highlighted by Ryan Dreyer and Jared Harvey’s 6/5 win which for Dreyer was a huge comeback from his 7/6 drubbing by Paul Shields in yesterdays afternoon singles.

The ten man Protea team, playing Scotland in a two day amateur golf Test Match, at Leopard Creek near Malalane, had a good first day ending up with a two point lead over their more fancied opponents.
South Africa dominated the first 9 holes in the morning foursomes when they were up in 4 out of the 5 matches at the turn. Three of the Scottish foursomes teams then won 3 early holes, just after the turn, and the Scots dominated from there on out.

A 10 man SA Team are ready to take on a in form Scottish Team at Leopard Creek in the second playing of The Leopard Trophy. The SA team finished their practice round this afternoon and although, aware of the strength of the Scottish Team, were upbeat about their chance to lift the trophy as they did so last year.

Michael Stewart claimed an emphatic 5 and 4 victory over compatriot Paul Shields to win the Sanlam South African Amateur Championship at Vaal de Grace near Parys.
