Reto and Simon set to start in Rio

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (15 August 2016) – South Africa’s Ashleigh Simon and Paula Reto are among the world’s top women golfers set to take the Olympic stage in Rio de Janeiro on Wednesday, 17 August. A field of 60 competitors in the women’s golf competition at Rio 2016 will be seeking to follow in the footsteps of American Margaret Abbott, who won the gold medal in Paris in 1900.

Samu seizes joint third in Wales

Solid putting and ball striking handed Ivanna Samu a share of third in the first round of the Girl’s British Open Amateur Qualifying in Wales on Tuesday. The 17-year-old SA number one fired an opening three-under-par 70 to join Patricia Garre from Spain.
The pair is one shot behind Sweden’s Julia Engstrom and just two off the pace from first round leader Paula Neira from Spain.
