Sweden’s Lynn Carlsson won the 54 hole 2011 Harder German Junior Championship after a two-hole playoff against Marina Steutz (Austria). The two had tied at the top of the leader-board on five-under 211, three strokes ahead of the German pair, Larissa Skodda and Isabel Gadea, tied on 214. South Africa’s Izel Pieters finished tied 10th on three-over 219 (75, 71, 73).

South Africa’s Izel Pieters carded a one-under par (75, 71 – 146) and is now lying tied 11th with fellow South African, Michaela Fletcher (74, 72 – 146) after round two of the Harder German Junior Masters. The event is being played at the Golfclub Gut Neuzenhof at Heddersheim, Germany.

After their practice round yesterday (Monday), the three, Izel Pieters, Lara Weinstein and Michaela Fletcher are ready to compete in this prestigious international junior tournament. Playing in superb KZN winter weather with only a slight breeze off the sea, the teenager returned a four over 148 to win the event by two strokes from Alana van Greuning. The South African Golf Association (SAGA) mourns the passing of one of it’s former Presidents, Cecil Wells.
Aged 81, Cecil passed away in Pretoria on Thursday 7 July after a short illness.
